Kitchen & Dining Room Makeover – Week 2
Welcome back to Week 2 of the One Room Challenge! Last week I shared how I’m tackling my kitchen & dining room doing a MAJOR renovation to get my townhouse ready to sell. I know, a bad time to sell, a house, but it is what it is.

So this week, its all about demolishing the kitchen. Removing the kitchen cabinets, tearing up the nasty parquet flooring in the dining room, and ripping up the ceramic flooring in the kitchen. I’m going to put down the same flooring throughout the kitchen & dining area for a cohesive trendier look.
And finally, I’m tearing down the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. I lived with one of the world’s tiniest kitchen for 4 years, and I’m beyond excited to be able to open this space up. Its such a tiny wall, but does it ever make a difference!
This is the before picture of how my tiny kitchen looks before D-Day!!
Here’s the wall…. only in existence for a few more minutes!!
What a chore this was taking up the parquet flooring! The previous owners had GLUED DOWN the parquet flooring throughout. the. house!!!
Good bye sink & stove. To be honest, I probably used my microwave more than my stove. lol.
Good bye counter & where the fridge used to be!
Before you rip down a wall, always, ALWAYS check to make sure that its not a load bearing wall!
And voila!! NO more wall! NO more kitchen!!
And now that my kitchen is all over my patio, lol, the real work begins!! Come back next week for my journey to overhaul my kitchen & dining room!
